An Implementation Guide for Improving Outcomes for Older Foster Youth

Responding to the outcomes found in Califorina for older youth in foster care, Court Lab identifies and implements best practices and recommendations for improving transition planning at the departmental, judicial, and caregiver levels for older foster youth.

These best practices were chosen for their positive impact on youth as they transition to independence. Transition age youth—youth ages 14 and older—interact primarily with four groups within the foster care system: their caregivers, social workers, attorneys, and judges.

This data rich guide will be useful for professionals and can be accessed by clicking on the PDF in the right hand column.
