Foster Care Youth Endowed Scholarship Program

The Foster Care Youth Endowed Scholarship Program provides a limited number of tuition and living expense scholarships to incoming MSU freshman who have spent part of their childhood or adolescence in a court-ordered foster care placement in Michigan.

Recipients of the scholarship are matched with MSU alumni who have offered to serve as mentors. In addition to offering encouragement and advice, the mentors help students arrange for housing over the holidays and spring/summer breaks, and assist them in finding other sources of financial support, including employment.
