FSM Webinar: Understanding the 7 Life Domains as a Framework for Student Success

The 7 Life Domains provided by Casey Family Programs offer a useful framework to support students with experience in foster care. In this webinar, Jamie Bennett, MSW, Training Specialist for the Center for Fostering Success, will provide an overview of the 7 Life Domains, focusing on why and how we are orienting our work in Michigan around them. The 7 Life Domains framework allows professionals to use a holistic, integrated approach in working with students. This webinar will include examples for developing student support in the context of the life domains as well as practice recommendations for optimal support of students.

Jamie Bennett, MSW, is currently the Training Specialist with the Center for Fostering Success at Western Michigan University. She is the lead trainer and curriculum developer the Fostering Success Coach Training, and has trained over 150 professionals across the United States in the Fostering Success Coach Model. Jamie served as a Campus Coach with the Seita Scholars Program at Western Michigan University for five years and has coached over 100 college students who have experienced foster care. In addition to coaching, Jamie worked with the Seita Scholars Program at WMU in various roles since its inception in 2007, including serving on the original student advisory board, which advised Western Michigan University faculty and staff in planning and developing the student support program. As a foster care alumna, Jamie is passionate about working with her fellow alumni of foster care and strives to provide opportunities and improve support for foster youth who are transitioning out of care.
